Man Bailed Following Arrest In Connection With Hate-Motivated Sexual Assault of Sikh Female in the Region
Law enforcement investigating the sexual attack of a UK-born woman of Sikh faith in a racially motivated incident in the region have issued a fresh call for public help as a individual taken into custody in the case has been released on bail.

The woman, who is in her 20s, stated she was assaulted by two individuals while traveling to work in the area on the morning of Tuesday 9 September.
According to Sikh organizations, the perpetrators allegedly told her: “You don’t belong in this country, get out,” during the assault, which occurred between 8:00 and 8:30 AM.

Detectives are asking anyone who saw two white men in the area to come forward. Descriptions of the suspects include:

- The second dressed in a grey top with a metallic zipper.

Hundreds of people attended a vigil on the evening of the incident to support the woman.
One of the organizers commented: “There is a sense that there’s been a rise in racial hostility and we are calling for togetherness.”
The victim has shared a statement expressing gratitude to the public for its “kindness and solidarity.”
She added: “No one should experience this on anyone. I was simply going about my day on my way to work, and what has happened have deeply affected us.
“Despite everything, my loved ones has been my rock and my neighbors has stood strong beside me.”
